Double Vision highlights two ways in which Back Burner Productions creates theatre: working with an original script hand in hand with the playwright to see the vision brought to life; working with a director to devise and explore themes, and building the show from the ground up as an ensemble.
A dynamic double bill featuring:
Teenage Depression: an Adult Comedy written by Ellen Ross Stuart
secret societies directed by Tamara Salpeter
Double Vision is the second show in Back Burner’s 5th season. The inspirational company is dedicated to the production of new Canadian material, and encourages an eclectic, interdisciplinary approach to theatre making.

Teenage Depression: an Adult Comedy looks through grown up eyes at the against-all-odds friendship forged between a desperate teen and her equally desperate help line counsellor. Years pass. Hilarity ensues, and predictably, desperation.
"secret societies" is a collaborative exploration of the massive convergence of people which make up Toronto. Through music and movement, we hold up a magnifying glass; illuminating a handful of the millions of separate stories which make up the complex city that we call home.
